Phyllis Roberts needs a life line. Less than a month after she remarried, this mother of four and stepmother to another four was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). She’s undergoing treatment, but her recovery hinges on a stem cell transplant.
A good friend has set up a donor drive. It's easy to be tested by a simple cheek swab that takes less than 12 minutes to see if you are a match for Phyllis or anyone else in need. If you are a match, the actual process of donating is about the same as giving blood and there is no cost to donors at any stage of the process.
The donor drive for Roberts will be held on Saturday, September 29 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 3530 W. Magee Road in Tucson. If you live out of test you can still be tested for FREE by registering online. For more information on what it takes to be a donor, and how you can register visit the Be The Match website.
