1/29 Today's KVOA Savvy Savings Segment

One of my favorite money saving places is the library. I especially love all the free information I can get through their website.

What's available online at www.library.pima.gov?

1. Online Language Learning- You can learn Dutch, French, Italian, English, German or Spanish with their Tell Me More Online Language learning. Click on Language Learning. It is designed to take you from a beginner to fluent with 2000 hours of online language instruction for reading, writing, speaking, and listening.

For users who don't speak English, instructions can be displayed in 15 languages.

2. Huge Magazine and Newspaper Database- You can access all kinds of magazines from crafts to Auto Repair. You can also access the AZ Daily Star and 500 other newspapers from the library website. Normally you have to pay subscription fees to access this information, but with your library card, it's FREE!

3. Online Tutoring help from elementary school age all the way up to college. Online Homework help from 3-10 p.m. daily. There are also links for help on upcoming Science Fair projects along with access to all kinds of educational games for all ages. They also have practice tests for the SAT and the GED.

4. Digital Downloads- They have two different databases for downloading books and audio tapes. Overdrive has 1046 audio books while Net Library has 2,695 eAudiobooks. Mac & iPod compatible titles now available for download as well.

Here's my last segment on saving money by using what is in the library.
